Sate Matang and its relation with Xinjiang

In Xinjiang, food such as Sate Matang (Aceh kebabs) was called Kawaplar. That is,

Kebabs seasoned with chili powder, salt, black pepper, and cumin are eaten with the skewer parallel to the mouth, gripping the kebab closest to the end with one's teeth and sliding it off the pointed edge into one's mouth. (source).

How this food can get to Aceh, is not a strange thing. Migration of various tribes in the world has arrived in Aceh for a long time. They then leave a trail of their respective cultures including cuisine.

In Aceh, minced lambs were pinned on sticks and baked until cooked. Then, given a special sauce made from peanuts and spices. And then served with hot rice, and beef soup.

Sate Matang or Aceh Kebabs is a special food, sold everywhere in Aceh, and rarely cooked in homes.
