Public and private Second School in Penang, Malaysia

Penang has more than 41.5% (2010) of Chinese. Some public schools pay more attention to the education of Chinese.

These public chinese school also pay attention to the local language, Bahasa Malaysia. But in Chinese school mostly all of the students and teachers uses Chinese to communicate. Chinese schools are more discipline, they make the students all discipline. In Penang Malay schools have more than Chinese school. The Chinese students have to study hard so that they can get in to the Chinese schools or else they will have to go to a Malay schools. Some Malay schools are good but some are bad. Some Chinese students will get bullied or boycott in Malay schools. Chinese schools are now available because of the pass the Chinese people worked hard to get a permit to open a Chinese school. The average time in school is 5hours. One week 5 days sometimes 6 days because of the extracurricular activities. Chinese schools have a lot of indoor and outdoor activity. All the students have to choose two activity to attend. Public is also known as government schools.

The school uniform is the same as the whole Malaysia except the private schools.


Private school also separates two category. One of the type of private school pay more attention to Chinese and one pay more attention to English. Private Chinese schools students are all ready to go overseas to study in their future because Malaysia deny the private schools diploma. Private Chinese schools fees are more cheaper then the Private English schools. Because most of the private English schools are International schools, and the fees are most expensive. People will like to go to the Private Chinese schools is because that they don't need to study one more year to get to university. Private schools From6 ( A level ) only need one years time and the public Chinese and Malay school's From 6 need two years. They can choose not to study From6 in public schools but have to go to college if they wish to go university.

Private English schools in Penang is also known as International School. The fees are very expensive, but the schools environment is much better and bigger then the public schools and the private Chinese schools. Every Private schools uniform are not the same.
