FREE OR NOT (An Original Poem)

Like an arrow cutting the
freedom of Nottingham forest;

Like a burdened caravan camel
under the sun of the desert;

Like a fly fighting for
life in the web of black widow;

Like a buzzard that watches
the might of Cape horn from above;

Like a squirrel that leaps
through the trees in the thicket;

Like a bear tasting the first
honey after a winters long sleep;

Like the last two mothers
on the Masada mountain;

Like the deep hidden secrets
in the ruins of statues;

Like a blind man in the midst
of the Golden Gate bridge;

Like a wild Siberian tiger
running for freedom.

Once free,
once in a den with hungry lions
I’m lost again,
in battling your love.
