Thanks to a great campaign with the @steemdrive Steemit billboard initiative and the support of the Steemit based blockchain social community, America’s first Steemit blockchain crowdfunded billboard is now presented live in Chicago, Illinois!
A Few Words From Our Chicago Liaison
My name is Nolan Jacobson and I am a liaison for the @steemdrive initiative. The purpose of the @steemdrive project is to aid in spreading the word about the fantastic social media platform, Steemit.
The @steemdrive campaign aims to spread the word about Steemit globally, by primarily placing billboards and eventually other forms of advertising all across the world. All are real world advertising and are fully crowdfunded from a daily blockchain pool of rewards that the users vote on to decide the allocation thereof.
The @steemdrive initiative is humbled that so many users believe in our cause and are helping upvote to make this “high-in-the-sky” project become a reality!
To make it all happen, we worked with Susy from LAMAR Advertising Company. She was of great help and assisted us with the best selection and locations of billboards available at the time on which to advertise Steemit.
LAMAR Advertising Company was founded in 1902 and is one of the largest outdoor advertising companies in North America, with more than 325,000 displays across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. LAMAR advertising is one of the few billboard agencies that accept credit cards for such "big ticket" purchases; which made it very easy for us to make an international transaction and in future we should be able to make use of a bitcoin Mastercard or Visa debit card to make payment through the same payment gateway. This DIGITAL bulletin gets prime exposure to traffic headed to O'Hare Airport. This affluent section of DuPage County is considered to be the fastest growing in the United States. Only 50 feet from the toll-way, this sign has excellent exposure to nearly 60,000 daily commuters to Metro-Chicago from the upscale northern suburbs.

Being one of the youngest Steemit users, shows that age is not a factor and the social platform is meant for people of all ages and walks of life. The secret to success on Steemit, is passion and a love of networking with other talented people on the platform.
I also wish to thank fellow Steemian, @kyriacos, who has become a good friend of mine on steemit.chat and is a very talented graphic artist. He recently created a logo for the @robinhoodwhale community curation project and did the fantastic artwork for the current rendition of the Steemit.life billboard. He has also created a logo for the @steemdrive project which will be unveiled in a separate blog post for your kind support of his work, (in the meantime see if you can spot the @steemdrive logo in a sneaky location on one of the above photos.)
