What is BitBay?
BitBay is a decentralized marketplace for trading anything with anybody... anywhere. It uses a double deposit escrow to ensure both sides make good on their deal. Both parties participating in a transaction make a deposit into escrow. Then when the transaction is done, whether it is trading physical items, cryptocurrencies or services, the escrow releases back into the users wallets. Why is this important? Let's say that I decided to trade you $200 worth of my Monero for $200 worth of your DASH. We would each deposit the appropriate amount of BAY into the escrow and it wouldn't be released back to us until both sides made good on the deal. This would also be great for someone providing a service. As an employee you wouldn't have to worry about being paid for a contract, and as an employer you could weed your way through time wasters and inexperienced contractors.
BitBay is also extremely secure. It uses two private keys instead of one, and each key can be protected with a different password. All communication is also encrypted, whether you use the marketplace messaging system or email. Nobody will see your private information except the person who you enter a transaction with.
Something new that BitBay will be implementing later this year is peggin their coin to the price of USD.
"Think of the rolling peg like a stabiliser. It will make the price of Bay behave much more like a big mature market like commodities, blue chip stocks, forex. This is done by controlling the coin supply. If there is too much sell pressure, we freeze a certain % of of the coin supply proportional to everyone’s account balance. If there is to much buy pressure we liquify frozen coins."
I am amazed by blockchain uses and cryptocurrencies more and more each day. BitBay looks like it could have an exciting future. Please check out the website and look at the wall of features and decide if it's something you'd be interested in. I hope this helps.
I will be giving away 1000 BAY coins. Just leave a working BitBay address in the comments by Friday, July 14th and a winner will be chosen at random.
