Jerry has a way of getting what he wants, nervously he paces around till we pay him attention. He needed a drink, only way was get him to scale the rock wall to get down to the beach. He had his drink and Mel encouraged him to try go into the water, nope not happening. She did manage to get him onto the paddle board and puttered around with him just fine. So no fear of being on a boat, just the swimming part. Even just 2 feet from the shore he jumped in all freaked out but only after much encouragement.
This development has to come on his terms or not at all. We know he can swim so this only makes him an easier dog to keep clean. Only down side is the battle when he is over heating to get him wet, he is like a cat almost. One step at a time with this guy, the more we expose him this summer the better he should be.
