Jerry is my faithful companion, always paying attention to what our pack is doing. This morning he has a ham bone from our ham and scrambled eggs breakfast, reward for being a good boy and staying out of the kitchen. Jerry only tends to chew the bone up enough to get the marrow out of the middle, I can imagine his tongue and jaw gets pretty tired.
Today we are relaxing again after yesterday’s hike, my companion seems content to just laze around today. The hike took us almost 3 hours and we were on our way down in the heat of the day. Jerry started to fall behind while Melissa stormed ahead trying to just get the trek down over with. Well Jerry is my faithful companion so I hung back with the tired little bugger, he never leaves me behind so it’s mutual. Last night actually Mel was trying to go for a walk with Jerry while I was editing a vlog and he just plain refused to walk past the end of the driveway without me, faithful!
Just another beautiful day in Port Alberni, we should see a high of 35°C today. We will be going out to the other lake cabin, owned by the other family members on Mel’s father’s side. That’s right we have 2 cabins on Sproat Lake to enjoy, the one we are going to today has a beach and we should be able to get Jerry to swim.
Jerry trusts me enough to carry him into the water, he gets a little tense but does not panic. I will be trying to record the event of Jerry learning to trust the water I hope he trust me enough to get over his fears. As my companion he goes everywhere and does everything with me, gets his nose right into everything I am doing. When I try to take pictures or talk to the camera Jerry pays close attention often getting into the middle of the shot.
In this picture I was trying to take a shot of myself and Mel vaping when Dave tossed the ham bone out for Jerry. Jerry grabbed the bone and laid himself down right in front of the camera, almost as if to say take a picture of what I just got. This time his intrusion was much appreciated because it turned into my morning word of the day post. Companionship and inspiration, Jerry you are my best friend.
