My local police force back home is the only police force in the south west England that has a mounted division unit - there are only 13 police forces in the whole of UK that has one. There are 12 horses in its mounted division and this is the first time I have seen them patrol in the town center.
These horse are not pets in the strictest sense, but I think any animal that is kept by human beings, and look after with love and tender deserves to be called a pet.
