One Piece | Why You Should Watch It
What’s up steemit world, as a self proclaimed anime otaku I was inspired by a fellow steemian who reviews anime, that is why starting today I will review different anime-related stuffs that will be beneficial both to steemit and to all anime otaku steemians. I think all steemians will agree that we want steemit to be an information-gathering community or platform just like how reddit’s reputationor any informative site which is I think really happening now due to growing communities in steemit-world the difference is that you don’t need to be that famous to earn money just sharing what you like and what you are is enough. And with that, my review will contain both my original thoughts and reference from trusted sources so that it will be both reliable and informative as well to all the readers. I’ll do just a rough overview or review for now because One Piece Series is still running and when it will end is still a mystery for all. Alright enough of that now let’s get into it.

Who would’nt fell inlove to the best selling manga of all time ***(430 million copies sold world wide as of October 2017)*** and one of the best anime stories that we have ever witnessed and still following up until today, well I am talking about One Piece. One Piece or pronounced in Japanese Language as Wan Pisu is a Japanese manga series illustrated and written by Eiichiro Oda. Oda sometimes called by most of One Piece avid fans “GODA” due to his amazing talent in creating plot twists in the series and also forshadowed stories, characters or even events that was already hinted in earlier chapters then revealed later on. One Piece garnered a lot of praise and recognition for its incredible story telling, characters, humor and its different art from the usual animes which you can’t compare it to. The manga series also broke several selling book records and also listed in the famous Guinness World Record for the most copies published by an author for the same comic book or manga.
Plot
Shanks gives strawhat to Luffy : image source
The story revolves around the adventures of a boy whose name is Monkey D. Luffy that accidentally ate a devil fruit which granted his body to have the properties of a rubber. Luffy inspired by his childhood idol Red Haired Shanks (Akagami no Shanks) who later revealed in the series as one of the “Yonkou or Four Emperors of the Sea”(Pirates who rules the second half of grandline) search for the legendary treasure known as “One Piece” explores the Grand Line together with his crewmates/friends which is popularly known as “nakama” in Japanese translation. Luffy reminded Shanks of his former captain the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger that is why he gave his hat to Luffy which later on revealed to be the strawhat's first owner is none other than the Pirate King.

Luffy rescues and befriends a swordsman named Roronoa Zoro, and they head off in search of the One Piece. They are joined in their journey by Nami, a navigator and thief; Usopp, a sniper and a liar; and Vinsmoke Sanji, a womanizing chef who is also a prince from a family of Royal Assassins. They acquire a ship named the Going Merry and engage in confrontations with notorious pirates of the East Blue. As Luffy and his crew set out on their adventures, others join the crew later in the series, including the doctor and anthropomorphized reindeer Tony Tony Chopper, an archaeologist and former assassin Nico Robin, a cyborg shipwright Franky, and skeletal musician Brook, and they also acquire a new ship named Thousand Sunny.
Setting
Grand Line: Image Source
The One Piece world is inhabited by different races such as humans(us) , fishmen (similar to mermaid or merman which is a human-fish hybrid), dwarves (little people), Giants (extremely large human), Minkmen (talking animals with human-like form). Grand Line or Gurando Rain(Romanized name) is an ocean current which follows an imaginary line which is also crossed perpendicularly by Red Line (vast land mass or continent that crosses the globe from north-east to south-west) and in turn this two major lines divides the Blues(seas) namely: North Blue, South Blue, East Blue and West Blue. This ocean is said to be the most ferocious or dangerous place in the One Piece world that it is commonly called by the residents of the Blues as the Pirate’s Graveyard. Many of the people manage to live a normal life on the Grand Line despite its reputation, this shows that Grand Line is not the one that is dangerous but rather travelling across it.
The One Piece
The Great Age of Pirates began after the death of Gold Roger the Pirate King which later in the series revealed that his true name is “Gol D. Roger. Roger before his death announce to the whole world whos watching his execution that he leaves all his treasure including the One Piece somewhere deep in the Grand Line and anyone could claimed it whom are worthy enough to reach it. It is presumably located at the last island raftel although no one except the surviving members of the Pirate King’s crew or also known as the Roger Pirates where and what this great treasure is about.

Trivia
- Oda himself confirmed in an interview with Momoko Sakura that the One Piece isn't something like "the journey itself was the real treasure" and that it is, in fact, a physical reward.
- According to an interview with Eiichiro Oda, he stated that if Sakazuki were to search for the One Piece he'd find it in a year.
My review

Just like most of One Piece Fans I was really both fell in love and obsessed to its story that I already re-watched One Piece four times over and over. Watching this anime will let you experience different emotions from the opening episode up until the latest arcs. One Piece really have a different charisma how you will laugh of the humor of each one of the characters not only that but it is also filled with a lot of inspiring quotes or story about not giving up on your dreams, being there for your nakama (you should know now what it means lol), keeping your promise and more. How Luffy’s personality will make you laugh out loud for his apparent lack of intelligence and will also make your jaw drop for his utter fearlessness. How funny it is to watch Zoro and Sanjis rivalry at all things, Nami’s obsessive love for money or treasure, Robin’s psychotic way of scaring the crew, Brooks punchline of “can I see your panties” , Chopper’s cuteness, Ussop’s contradiction of scared and bravery and Franky’s famous celebration word “Super”. What really amaze me the most is how the story revolves around the famous “One Piece” and how the World Government is hiding the void century or the unheard or hidden one hundred years history.
Why you should watch it???

Although One Piece was already released way back in 1997, I only discovered it probably in 2003 or 2004 which I instantly got hooked into it. Not only One Piece will make you laugh but it will make you cry at the same time because of how amazing the story of each arcs progress although just one arc of One Piece is enough to be an anime series. Even though this anime is running for more than two decades many followers of it is still enjoying it just like haha. How the story from the beginning tip or arc is still connected until now will somehow amaze you. Not only that the abilities were also extremely well explained but its uniqueness on how Oda made it is incredible and as a viewer you can somehow manage to measure the difference in strengths not like how Naruto’s and Dragonball’s character are explained although nothing to take away from those both great anime as I also love them. Imagine gaining the abilities/properties of a rubber in your body and also how “Haki” or one’s will is measured and can not be obtained just by an overnight training which I also loved about Hunter X Hunter by Togashi. One Piece is also an anime for all viewers not only for kids, teens, twenty’s but even old geezers lol. I remembered that when I’m still a little kid my father and I used to watch it together although he was referring to the anime’s name “LUFFY” and not its true name. One Piece opening songs can somehow make you LSS (Last Song Syndrome) so that’s it for now.
This is just actually a rough overview of One Piece and now let me tell you something that the closing episode is famous about…
