It's been few weeks that we haven't provided you with an update regarding our @arabsteem project, so we thought to highlight some of the efforts/results on this end to help promote steemit to the Arab world, but also support Arab steemians!

So what is @arabsteem?
You still don't know what @arabsteem project is yet? We started this effort few months back with a dual-sided mission:
- Bring more visibility about steemit to the Arab world
- Support existing Arab steemians
In fact, arab population surpasses 420 million arab speakers, with half of whom are under 25 years old (source: wikipedia/unesco). We want more Arab people to join into steemit, but also contribute quality content whether in Arabic, English, French,...
We have been excited with the results of our efforts so far, #arab contributions have been growing and most importantly being of quality content. We also got some great support from different amazing steemians, yet the road is still long and we have no plans of slowing down!
What have we been up to?
- Discord: Our Arabsteem discord channel has been growing steadily, and we just crossed the 200 members count! We have some amazing members and also managers @khaled-dz and @mokh-tar who have been extremely helpful with managing the discord and coming up with ideas for improving our arabsteem work and growth!
- Curation/Upvote: We have been curating and upvoting quality #Arab content on a daily basis. I personally had delegated around 500 SP to @arabsteem , but we also received a generous delegation of 500 SP from @stellabelle .. thank you loads for that .. which has been helping the account grow on its own through curation rewards. Arabsteem rewards are being constantly powered up. The @arabsteem account currently stands at a little above 1,200 SP.

- Daily Curation Digest: We have been posting on a daily basis a curation digest of the best posts, based on our selections for the top quality. A big thank you to @abigail-dantes who has been constantly very supportive to our work here which is helping Arabsteem grow. The curation digest has been running for almost 2 months now, on a daily basis, non-stop.
- Curation Trail: Upvotes to the Arab posts are actually followed by a curation trail we had setup. Due to all the troubles that had been happening recently with automated trails, we are now running our own curation trail .. yes it works 100% of the time :D .. and posts getting upvotes are now upvoted by the @arabsteem curation trail. Our old steemauto curation trail appears to be active once again, but we are essentially relying on our own manual trail for now.
- Facebook Page: Our arabsteem facebook page has been constantly updated with valuable content from the steemit writers, but also with updates and info about steemit to help with more promotion to the Arab World. @alfamano has been generously helping with the management of the page and handling the daily posts.
- Facebook Campaign: We ran a full month steemit promotion in January targeted towards the Arab world, and with direct links to steemit. This campaign yielded a whooping 100K impressions!
- Arabsteem Selfie Challenges: We ran 2 selfie challenges so far with the target being the whole population of steemit, not just Arabs, the latest of which was just paid today (the first paid up 20+ STEEM awards, and the second 15 SBD awards). How can you help?
We have been contributing a lot of time and effort into this project because we believe this has the potential to succeed and accomplish what I highlighted above in the intro.
In order to help, if you find our work as exciting as we do, we are looking for ways to grow the account further, and be able to reward quality Arab contributions, and enticing more people to join and write great content. The way we see it you can help in two ways:
- Delegate Steem Power to @arabsteem: The project still has very little SP, in spite the gracious delegations listed above. To be able to reward Arab's contributions properly, the account needs to have enough SP to have a valuable voting power.
- Join Curation Trail: As we highlighted above our curation trail is manual so it's best to contact us if you want to join. Alternatively the steemauto.com curation trail appears to be active again, so you can alternatively join there. The trail votes according to the quality of the post.
