The museum is known for its collections of Roman archeology, southern Dutch art of painting from 1500-1800, art after 1800 and modern art. In May 2013 princess Beatrix opened the museums quarter in 's-Hertogenbosch, the new museum complex of the Bierman Henkel architects, which unified the North Brabant Museum with the state museum ’s-Hertogenbosch. The Guggenheim of Den Boschas well as the `Museums quarter 's-Hertogenbsoch' were honored by the interior magazine "Own Home & interior" as one of the biggest cultural attractions in the Netherlands.
