This Bank Indonesia building is one of the legacy of Dutch occupation of the nation of Indonesia, the building is located on Jalan Cut Meutia. 15 Kelurahan Merduati, Kuta Raja Sub-district, Banda Aceh City, Aceh Province. located west of Hotel Lading Banda Aceh. according to existing historical records, formerly BI building is a building De Javasche Bank which was built on December 2, 1918 by the Government of the Dutch East Indies which is designed by a leading architect firm in the Dutch East Indies, N.V. Architecten-Ingenieurs Bureau Hulswit en Fermont te Weltevreden en Ed. Cuypers te Amsterdam founded in 1910 by Eduard Cuypers (1859-1927) and Marius J. Hulswit with A.A. Fermont.
