Ranakpur Jain Temple,Rajasthan,India
A perfect example of an architectural marvel.Estimated to be about 500 years old.The temple is completely made from marble with intricate carvings, domes and pillars.
There are more than 1000 marble pillars in the temple and no two pillars are alike.Legend says that the temple was blessed with a boon that you can never count the correct number of pillars.
The carvings are just amazing .There are creepers, snakes, leaves, flowers so intricate that it is a feast to the eyes. And you will go crazy trying to find the ends of creepers.
The inside of temple is so peaceful and cool. Its a wonderful experience to walk around the cool temple floor bare feet.
Unfortunately I have only this outside view of temple as photography is not allowed inside the temple after 5pm due to prayer and pooja.
Here are some more pics.
