#Art-Services is both a Tag on Steemit where you can post work you wish to share with others, as well as a chat room in the Steem-Art Discord Server (Thank You @artsygoddess).
The whole point of #art-services is to encourage collaboration with other steemians. This could include allowing writers to use your images to add a nice touch to their articles, photo alteration\editing, colouring, ect. The terms are all what we make them. Sometimes it may be an SBD awarded art collaboration contest. It might be a line drawing you wish to allow other steemians to colour for you. It could be an image you are open to writers using for their blogs. There are a variety of ways that you can use the #art-services tag and chat-room. The above links are for example only, they do not use the art services tag, but I wanted to provide examples of what the tag could be used for (proper reference at the bottom of this post).
The way it works currently is that either artists set the terms when originally posting, or we work out the details in chat or comments. Once these posts start making some real SBD we will have to figure out what percentage is fair. As it is, I send a tip for every image I use. The amount depends on how integral the image is to the work, and other variables. However, I always send a tip which is more than would be possible doing it by a fair percentage. A lot of images services sell the use of individual images for around a dollar each(or more). This seems fair to me, however, I can only afford what my blog earns me. Gratefully, my earnings have been increasing, over time. So the amount I'm able to send continues to increase little by little. Feel free to take a look at my wallet to see how it's working. Eventually, I'll go through steemdb and the wallet to put it all together in an easy to view fashion.
- Why don't we get more images for our blogs from other steemians?
- Steem Art: Welcome to #Art-Services
This project started 15 days ago. It's been a little slow to develop, but a lot has been happening behind the scenes.
The "Welcome to #Art-Services" post was our first edition of !!!Warning!!! This Post Contains 100% Steemian Generated Art".
New editions will be coming out every 11 days or so.
For this edition, I will be showing off some of the collaborations that are going on, and other work that is happening.
First of all, I have to give a big Thank You to @yusaymon for creating a signature banner for these posts.
The idea behind this banner is that so that others may use it. This is for any of your blog posts that incorporate art only from within the Steemiverse. If you would like to use this banner in your posts, please comment here. If you wish you may also contact me on steemit.chat or discord (same name).
There are two conditions to this offer:
- You are sourcing all of your images for a given blog from within steemit. This could also include if the art is your own work.
- You properly reference the source of your images. (see this post, and my other art services posts for examples)
This is a nice way to do it with html:
<center><img src="http://i.imgur.com/Ancv5Q1.png"></img></center><center>(Image By @zombiedoll via: <a href="https://steemit.com/art/@zombiedoll/slime-strawberry-shortcake">Slime Strawberry Shortcake</a>)</center>
Be sure to make that all on one line if you don't want a space between your image and the attribution.
In other news @yusaymon created this robot for me (below on left), when I was writing a post about bots. When he asked me to tell him an idea what I wanted him to draw, I was amazed! I've never had an artist ask me for an idea to draw something for me before! This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. After a while I got the idea to ask @creativesoul to do a photo-edit on it because I know she's into that stuff, and @yusaymon was all about it!
Then, after the two of them played around with it a little more it became this:
It's amazing what happens when we work together!!!!
Another exciting project coming up is a collaboration that I am setting up between @spaingaroo and @artsygoddess.
@spaingaroo agreed that I could share this with @artsygoddess for her to colour.
So in the next couple days I will be printing a few copies of it on nice cardstock, and mailing it to @artsygoddess for her to have fun with!
This is one of the coolest ideas, and I'm so excited. Stay tuned for the results.
So, now you've gotten to see a few examples of what we do in #art-services :-) Don't be shy! Stop in to our channel on the Steem-Art Discord Server, and say hi. Feel free to post your collaboration requests in the #art-services tag. Or find me in the comments, discord, or steemit.chat. I'm pretty beat from writing this post, so I'm going do drop a couple more images on ya and say "Have a Nice Day!"
This is by @creativesoul as part of a collaborative effort with @spaingaroo from Day Five M.O.L.A.A. Daily Love and Steem Dollar Giveaway.
@zombiedoll is one the newest additions to our #art-services club. She has a lot of awesome art, and I highly encourage you to check out her blog. Expect to see more from this talented artist :-D
