I really liked the mixing of watercolors and ink. So today I again demonstrate how in several movements (and using this technique) you can get quite a beautiful picture.
I use the watercolor "Nevskaya Palitra": ultramarine, violet, burnt sienna, scarlet, white zinc. Ink black. Paper Palazzo 280g / m2, 70% cotton.
First I paint the silhouette of a bird. I do not think about the proportions especially, because the main thing is to convey the character. I remove the extra pencil strokes and turn to watercolors.
I'm picking up an ultramarine and a lot of water. The main goal is to fill the bird's contour. And on wet paper I add a little violet paint to the starling's breast (which is the starling, it looks like?). And immediately I turn to the ink. And I drip all over the surface of the paper with droplets of ink that spread in different directions. While the ink is moist I add salt to absorb the excess water and paint. And I take the dryer and dry the picture.
Now I turn to the details. In ink, I paint the eyes of the starling, leaving a glare. I'm blocking the scarlet paint with what's already on the palette, and I draw paws. Now I take out the whitewash and make small spots on the body and select the foot, which turned out to be darkened with ink. And burnt sienna I draw a twig, blurring a little ink, which somehow did not have time to dry out)) But in any case I liked not only the process, but the result. And you?
