I just cannot move away from the influence of light and heat. The only reason why I was using this combination of colors was the spring. It’s amazing how much the Sun rises energy and mood after a long time in which we were immersed in gray days.

Blue, yellow and pink, together achieve an impression of freshness. Green is here to bring all the other colors together. There is light yellow-green and olive-green. I like contrasts between different intensity colors, so I often use olive-green as a lower intensity green color.

I managed to achieve here the canvas still visible somewhere. So the canvas became an integral part of the painting. The weaving is part of the composition. The first layers of dry color applied to the canvas remain still visible in several parts which is even more emphasized repetitive rhythm of the bond.

Acrylic is dried much faster than oil and is more in spirit of our times, so it is more common in painting today. But oil is incredibly comfortable as a material, it is dense and even when diluted it retains fullness. I like that oil characteristic, acrylic can not replace them, so I still paint in oil. Oil colors are slower drying and if painted in multiple layers, with maintaining color purity, than the process can be very long. That is because you have to wait the lower layer dries before you put another layer on it. I decided to use acrylic for underpainting due to it’s faster drying and to continue with combination of oil and acrylic. Oil pastels allow me to leave a bit of a sketch on the canvas. Lines made with pastels are firmer than those made with brush and I like to harmonize lines with the fields of colors.

In the details shown below you will easily notice the visibility of the canvas and the pastel drawing.
