39 °C in the shade
(4)
This is the last one of the series of paintings '39 °C in the shade' I will represent you.
Bright and intensive colors are here inspired by the hottest days of summer in the aim of expressing joy of life. Trough all those days when everybody and everything barely moved I was persistently making those small paintings.
Material used: acrylic and oiled pastel on paper.
This has some of the children's playgrounds in it’s impressions.
When I exhibit those paintings one child was looking at them and said to his mother, 'Look mum, this is what some child has drawn!'. My friend told me then it is the greatest compliment that I could get. But honestly, I do not paint this way otherwise. This was just the result of melting the air around us because of the high heat.
Some prior steps:
Few days after finishing this series I tried to transfer this type of work to bigger canvas, but didn't succeed. I have totally different approach when painting such a small works on paper than painting bigger canvas.
