얼마전 @kimsursa 님의 "동화의 재해석" 이벤트에 참여해 보았습니다.
제 주제는 개구리 왕자 입니다.
In the original fairy tale story, the frog requested having dinner and sleeping together with the princess for finding her golden ball.
The princess didn't like doing all his requests because he is a frog... However, the frog became a very handsome prince at the end, and they are happy.
Why the frog has to be changed? Can't he just be handsome as himself?
As humans have eyes, we are living in the "you have to look good world". Why can't we just beautiful as we are? Why can't we focus on our inner beauty?
I changed the story with my original illustration:
우리나라 동화에서는 개구리가 황금공을 주워준 댓가로 저녁식사도 같이하고 침대에서 같이 누워야 한다고 요청하지요. 그러나 공주는 계속 거부했었고요.... 왜 거부했을까요? 그것은 개구리가 인간의 모습을 하고 있지 않은 개구리이기 때문이지 않을까요?
우리는 외모지상주의가 만연한 세상에 삽니다. 우리가 장님이지 않은이상은 언제나 아름다운것을 원하기 때문이지요. 그리고, 또 왕자들은 왜항상 괴물이나 다른 크리쳐였다가 멋지고 핸섬한 왕자로 변신하여야만 할까요? 저는 외면의 아름다움보다는 내면의 아름다움과 우정에 포커스를 맞추어 봅니다.
"... The frog requested the princess that he wants to talk with her for an hour for finding her golden ball.
As per his request, they have talk shortly. After one hour, she wanted to talk with him more. The frog is the prince in his lake world, the princess fall in love with his stories that full of wise and wisdom.
But the happy moment was just gone one day, the princess found out the frog is getting unwell.
He stayed too long time at the ourside world, his body colour was becoming red and his condition was getting worse.
For the better future, they are having goodbye kiss. They will meet again after they grew up and recovered. "
"....... 우연히 황금공을 주워준 댓가로 개구리는 공주와 한시간만 이야기하고 싶다고 요청하였다.
그들은 이야기를 나누었고, 개구리의 깊은 지식과 지혜로운 흥미로운 이야기들을 들은 공주는 비록 개구리 이지만 그의 아름다운 내면에 반한다.
공주는 그 개구리를 자신의 곁에 더 오래도록 두고 싶었다. 개구리는 사실 연못세계의 왕자로서,국민들 통치하기 위해 그의 세계를 오랫동안 떠날수 없었으나 개구리는 공주와 더 오랫동안 함께있고 싶었다.
그들은 서로의 둘도없는 가장 친한 친구가 되었고,어려울때나 기쁠때나 서로의 지식을 공유하고 도우며 살아갔다.
그러나 개구리가 바깥세계에 오래있게 되면서, 그의 몸에 이상이 생겼다.
그의 초록색 몸이 바깥세계의 공기가 너무오래 접촉하여 붉게 산화되면서, 그의 건강이 급속도로 나빠졌다.
더 나은 미래를 위해, 공주는 개구리의 건강을 회복하길 기원하며 사랑하는 친구와의 작별을 고한다.
그리고 서로가 더욱 성장한후의 만남을 기대하며 그들은 키스를 한다."
