STREET ART #24 - in the city of Santiago de Chile

DSC_01.jpg

Before going to Chile, I thought I would find most of Chile’s street art in Valparaiso. I did go there first and that city is all about street art and colors. But Santiago also has an amazing street art scene. Because I went to I was staying in the center of town and could walk to most places. Walking was a great thing to do. It made me stumble over a lot more street art than I had expected. Santiago surprised me.

On my way to San Christobal, I walked through the area of Bellavista. Came across some wonderful murals at the same time. Bellavista is an area with many good restaurants, cafes and bars. Many of the murals are painted on the walls belonging to restaurants, which means it was a bit difficult to take photos while still open...

It is possible to book walking tours It is a great thing to do to get the history of the art scene, but in this city I did not have the time to do that. Unfortunately I don't know much about the development of street art.
