STREET ART #28 – Stavanger, Norway

DSC_01.jpg

Stavanger is one of those cities with a vibrant street art scene. Take a walk in the old part of the city, and you will see art all everywhere. Just turn around a corner or look into an alley. Some paintings are small. Easy to miss. Some are large murals covering a whole house!

I found this one a few years ago. Probably the eyes are not visible anymore.....

Every time I visit Stavanger, I discover something new. Love to just walk around the old center, which also is the historic center.

Stavanger was the host of the first street art festival in 2001. The city is still the host the annual Nuart Festival in september each year. Artists are invited, and new murals will emerge.

Most paintings are found in the older part of town. You can download the iPhone app from Nuart which will provide you with a guide to locations where you will find the art.
