Graffiti is omnipresent in Copenhagen. Some of it is «illegal» and very different from what will usually be defined as street art. This is the signature of the artist who calls himself SPYO - A Danish graffiti artist and a self-proclaimed outsider. He has no desire for, or respect for the «established society». Besides his large pieces he also writes protests all over Copenhagen. Often on rooftops and facades.
I found some of the graffiti done by SPYO in the district of Nørrebro It's the district which has a large amount of graffiti. Some it is illegal, like those done by Danish graffiti artist SPYO. This is the district more than any other area of the city where graffiti reflects the mulit ethnic community which characterizes this area. This is where you find nightclubs and designer boutiques along with Turkish bazars and restaurants. A diverse community that is exciting to explore. The street art adds significant value to the different districts in Copenhagen. It has been used as a tool for the gentrification of poorer neighborhoods in the city.
And here is the video by Chris of the rest of the collection. Enjoy! :)
