While in Taiwan, one of the places we went to was a pottery / art workshop, which is quite a popular tourist attraction in Yinge, Taiwan. I'll make a more in-depth travel post about my travels here soon, so stay tuned!
Naturally, when I tried to come up with ideas for what I should make, my recent steem addiction made the choice obvious. My wife is probably starting to think I'm crazy. I wanted to share this for many reasons:
- The timing of the new logo, I was afraid that people would already forget the old one. I didn't have to worry about that though, because people always complain about a logo change. Secondly, I read that the Steem logo is still the same, and unchanged, and this rebranding is simply a separation between the blockchain and the specific steemit frontend. Here's the post.
- When I think about my recent travels (I am now back in the US), this reminds me of how much fun I had while in Taiwan this time, and also being able to share some of the experiences through Steemit with all of you. That's made it especially special: being able to share the experience I find also cements it further in my mind, and I won't forget as easily.
- I think it surprisingly turned out well (given my general lack of skill :) ).
- I want to promote and to make more use of @saywha's new showandtell steemit tag!
Of course, there's much to criticize here. The obvious being that I failed to capture the curviness of the logo. I took the steem logo and took an iron to it. Also, I was dismayed to realize the color scheme was the OPPOSITE of the logo (dark light dark vs light dark light). Oh well, you can see it if you squint haha.... All in all, I'm still happy with it. And it has served as a nice coaster for my coffee mug!
Here it is up close:
Up close it isn't as pretty. Press ctrl+- to make it far, far away and you can appreciate it more :)
Anyway, that's what I wanted to share. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am!
