"The Last Supper" is a commission piece that i am drawing for my father. Tonight i laid down the pencil sketches for the primary focus/central point of this piece . Four little hippie turtles chill around a *rainbow* bonfire, playing guitar and drums, making ( and cheerfully trying to sell) macrame, smoking weed, sharing their pipe dreams, smiling and carefree.
Tonight i spent a total of around 3 hours designing these turtles and setting up the layout for the design . Naturally there will be significant changes between this stage and the inking stage, but the first step is always the first step!
There is a lot of depth to the meaning and concepts behind this piece, and the full design, but i will get into that more as the drawing progresses. I cannot wait to work on this creation more, (there is so so so much more to this drawing). You can see here my fathers "concept design". This is something he sketched out at the round table as we discussed his ideas and what he wanted.
In a sense, this Last Supper will be a "masterpeice" of sorts for my artwork. I am hoping to complete this drawing by the end of the year, in full color and ink. This piece will ultimately fit in with Horror October, but these adorable turtles will be oblivious to the dangers that begin to appear around them. This complex drawing will end up with easily over 15-20 characters by the time it is complete :)Follow me to watch this piece progress!
Thanks for checking out my art!
Namaste! SO MUCH LOVE!
