The death-dancer a CC-BY drawing

Yesterday I read @katharsisdrill s post about creative commons. I know he has been using this licensing for quite a while now, years even, but have never thought much about it.

It was a great idea, but I didnt really go into it. I thought most of my work was not well suited for licensing anyway since it is mostly handmade metal objects and thus not easily copied.

Recently I have started making quite a few 3dsculpts (both as part of my forging workflow and as standalone digital objects) and I also do semi-digital drawings and both of these things are actually quite easily copied.

So I have decided to try this creative commons thing. Actually @katharsisdrill is not the only one promoting creative commons here on Steemit @alexandravart and @Shortcut are both doing a great job and have made dedicated profiles for promoting creative commons art here. But now for my CC-BY debut:

First up is a drawing/inkpainting I made a few years back, and recently scanned and reworked digitally, but I plan on putting up some 3d sculpts as well later on.
All images in this post are released under the creative commons license

This is the original drawing with ink. it is just scanned using a normal desktop scanner, nothing else

As per my usual workflow with these drawings I added an alpha channel and tweaked the brightness and contrast settings to get a more even look and something that is a lot easier to work with.

I then added colours to both the background and the foreground. Adding them to the background makes the lines stay clear.

Finally I cleaned up the last bits of lines from the paper and brushed up some of the edges
I chose a cool bluish green for the skeletons and a warm yellow for the dancer. The contrast didn´t come out as clear as I thought it would but thats just the way sometimes
hope you liked it. I also hope I got the licensing thing right. Its still new to me. I will have to figure out a good way to share my 3d sculpts also. I think some of them might be of some value for others. What do you think?
