My Submission to Ribbon Of Hope No. 24 Collaborative Art Journey
Collaborative Art Journey - RIBBON OF HOPE No. 24
The Collaborative Art Journey is introduced by @everlove and has been a very successful collaborative effort by the artists here on Steemit.
This is the first time I have entered this collaborative event, but I dare say, not the last!
The task was to take the image provided and create a piece of art from it, any type of art and in any medium.
What Should I Do?
I thought about this and since I have been getting familiar with some apps on my android tablet which let you record your screen and another which lets you create Kaleidoscopes, this seemed to be a good opportunity to learn more about using them to do cool stuff!
Here are the different images that I used to create the Kaleidoscope animation with;

Making The Video - My Process
Creating the Kaleidoscopes was not the hard part, that was the video! I first made a couple of changes to the original image, using a filtering app called 'Paintbrush'.
After I had the four copies of the original with different types of filters applied, I put them into the kaleidoscope app called 'Kaleidoscope Lime' and tried some different types of effects in there.
When I was happy with my choices, I started the recording of each different image while they were animating in the Kaleido app. I had to do each one independent of the others, so each has it's own video.
When all four videos were completed, I then went into editing mode and spliced them together adding text and a backing tune.
I used a screen recording app called 'DU Recorder'.
I've used others but this does everything from recording to editing, like splicing videos, trimming, cutting, adding music and even making the videos into GIFs so they will be a smaller file size and not need a video player to view them.
Mixing the videos was the real challenge, for me at least, but if you want to learn something, my belief is throw yourself into the deep end and you have no choice but learn from your failures.
I always learn best from failing!
So, there you have it, I hope you enjoy this little production! I know I totally enjoyed making it and maybe I will even create a fractal art piece from the original image, who knows.
Thanks for looking!
