Aeternus Mechanicus is a handcut collage i created a while ago as part of my Homo Mechanicus series. My idea was to create the image of a massive superstructure guarding Earth against the horrors of the universe and using the rotation of the Moon as a source of energy. The structure has the symbolic form of an angel and also includes male and female attributes, being a guardian and a creator at the same time.
The size of the artwork is 100/70cm and i used images printed on 330gr velvet paper cut and pasted on black hardboard.
This a photo of the main figure at an early stage.
And a photo of me holding the figure before is glued on the background.
You can check out the competition under, is full of real heavy talent so you will not regret it:)
