Green island, vector illustrated series

Hi again ) Among other techniques for microstocks I draw vector illustrations in Adobe Illustrator. There are a lot of constrictions in stock illustration, for instance you can't use any raster effects (as blur, drop shadows, raster textures and so on). That's why stock vectors often look too flat and simple.
To avoid this I apply gradient and my own hand drawn vector textures. This increase the result EPS file size (that must be not much than 15 Mb), so you need to know when to stop of cause.

The series I would like to show today was grown up from an idea to depict a green island looks like an unbroken complete shape filled with small objects like houses, cars, trees and flowers.

Here is the sketches that go directly to Illustrator:

When I finished the green islands I had an idea to show them in winter look also:

When you finish with the main work, you need to observe if there are some elements in your composition, that other illustrators and designers might need. Thereby a summer elements constructor came out:

... and winter set of cause:

And two seamless patterns on urban:

Another one collage and traffic jam scene:

And this city roadmap:

I've showed the process of composing a whole series from few sketches. Hope you like it!
