R2D2 in ink and watercolor - Star Wars fan art (all process and description inside:)

Today I returned to creating one more Star Wars fan art series. I would love to make it digitally, but it's SO hot in my apartment (35 Celsius. Guys, I can't survive this), that I can't even turn on my graphic tablet, it overheats.

So - traditional art then. R2D2 in ink and watercolor:

first of all I fix the watercolor paper to the tablet. This kind of paper loves to wrinkle when you put a lot of water, so it need fixation.

After a rough pencil sketch I start inking. I usually try to keep the pencil sketch really simple, only figuring out general proportions, to have more space for fantasy while inking.

After inking is finished I put a lot of water around my model, and start creating background. By the way today I noticed that this technique is pretty similar to the one I use in digital art, only with no water, of course:)

Then when the back is done and gets dry I start working with the model.

My favorite trick - adding white dots with white watercolor, t gives more contrast.

Some places I work more with copic markers (only a few, cause watercolor paper spoils them) and liners.

Thank you for watching:) Please support me with an upvote if you like my art, I really need to buy a conditioner to continue pleasing you guys with digital art too, and now it's hard even to breath here:(

Thank you for voting and commenting:)

Love, Inber
