Hear, Steemit!
The Green-Eyed Sniper ends today with a bang! It's been a real pleasure to share my comic and my characters with you. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section :)
But is this the real end? Well, some characters will be back in a separate series, called Infected Blood, which I will start posting on Steemit in a few weeks. As for the next, most immediate updates on my blog, I will put up fun Meet the Character pages for your entertainment and of course the scary reviews by Sekhmet!
About The Green-Eyed Sniper - A Sho(r)t Story (and a little advice to beginner comic creators)
This was my very first serious attempt at creating a complete comic. It all began in late 2014 with a three-page story, which covered just Part 1. In late spring 2015, I started publishing the comic on my own website and on several webcomic platforms. By then, I had a complete Part 2 of 10 pages, and the final Part 3 all written in my mind. I then scripted Part 3 and went back to the drawing board for it. A little into releasing Part 3, I did something that artists should be very careful about, because it may get them stuck into an infinite loop of perfection searching: I redid Part 1, keeping the same background story, but deleting some details and expanding upon the rest a bit. I ended up with 10 pages and I was very happy about the result. First off, the story turned out much clearer from the get-go. Second, it was easier to become emotionally attached to the characters. Third, it remained as short as I wanted it to be. Finally, my art skills had improved a bit, at the time, so Part 1 was visually much more in line with the rest of the comic.
However - if you are a beginner, I would discourage you from redoing any old art, unless absolutely necessary! In my case, it was, as it greatly benefited the comic for the above reasons. So, ask yourself: do I really need to go back and fix those old pages or should I just live with them and keep making more (and better) art?
