Intro

My wife is a wonderfull person with head full of surprises and ideas. She doesn't like to buy presents - she is making them. In few days her grandmother is having hers 70th birthday so naturally it's a great occasion for a hand-made present. The funny thing - at the beginning my wife never knows how her creation will look at the end because it's changing all the time while making.

Early vision of this gift - only paper and ribbon - it should look like wicker heart with real flowers.

Paper tubes

First she needed to imitate wicker and it's not that easy. It's good that nearby supermarket leaves a lot of "promotional newsletter" on mailbox.

With a wooden stick used for shashlik she created a lot of paper tubes (with glue of course).

Heart shape

That was easy - heart copied from laptop screen is a great start.

Wicker heart

Hard part starts now. My wife combined paper tubes with two heart shapes and she started to combine it all.

Now is time to paint it red.

Ribbon roses

She watched so many youtube tutorial on making roses that even I had enough. Making it was the longest part of this whole present.

Glue gun is the best way to connect different materials.

Final effect

Finally after 2 days of working it looks really great! My wife's grandmother should be really pleased with this present. There will be also a hand-made birthday card but it's still not ready for this article.
