My primary software of choice for painting is Photoshop. Mostly just because I've been using it forever and I know where everything is. I don't have to think about the software and I can just paint. Though there was a time I wanted to experiment with Corel Painter because I'd noticed that artists that painted with Painter, well their paintings looked more "painterly".
So this painting was done mostly with Corel Painter. I still did the background with Photoshop because I felt like I could control the texture better there, but indeed Painter has a really nice feel to the way the brushes blend the paint that's already on the canvas.
I eventually figured out how to get Photoshop to do the same thing with the mixer brush tool so my Painter journey pretty much ended, but it was fun while it lasted.
