Sculpture

I haven't done much sculpture over the years but i have few pieces that i'd like to show you.

art workshop 2005

Couple of pieces i did while at art workshop for unemployed youth back in 2005. Doing art was always in my sights but it was not the idea that everyone would become artists. Art was there as to build confidence and have something to do. We did also some drama, sports, learned to play the djembe a little bit and even did some dancing..

a mask, made with chisel, stained and lacquered.

There was a blacksmith workshop. One day we would restore a old train cart for the place and on the other we would be doing some blacksmithing. I did this little creeper.

Institute of Fine Arts 2007-2011

We had several sculpting classes in art school during the first years. So we would get acquainted with the machinery and learn some basic technqiues.

Something like a selfportrait aswell, chiseled alder.

A rocking unicorn, named "Dancing Star" Thought it was very clever. I didn't get pictures after this so there is still the piece of wood that was left for a clamp showing.

On this class we were to pick a small object and magnify it. I chose a piece of tangerine peel. It was first sculpted in clay, and then cast in concrete from a plaster mold.

Metalworking class. The feathers are made from pieces of bandsaw blade and they would make nice chime.

As professional 2011 -

I have been focusing on painting. No more fancy machines available. Most of work here are pieces for collaborative work with Hydra. It is a chance to take a break from my own work and try different stuff and have some fun.

This was just a blob of urethane that i painted for our first project.

Working with hard modeling clay. Take on Magritte's Son of Man.

It was replicated in plaster and painted. Here are some attached to the final piece.

Another piece for the same project Some molds and another casting behind. Leave a comment if you would like to see the process of making it.

This is the where they ended up. The picture doesn't do much justice to the piece as there are tons of details and the feeling of the space that it takes in the gallery is lost.

Little statue i made for a friend as a gift. Air drying clay that was painted.

Thanks for viewing. I'll happily answer any questions you have in the comments
