Live Art Painting for Wedding Ceremony | JR & Jewel Smith 2016

Live painting artwork commissioned for JR & Shirley "Jewel" Smith Wedding, New Jersey 2016

To My Dear Family,

Mr and Mrs Smith, I'm honored for you all to have me do a live painting at your wedding ceremony. It is a sacred event and I created this visual prayer filled with symbolic understanding as a keepsake for this special day. The dove represents the Holy Spirit that dwells in the heart, the gracious spirit inspires and empowers you to be your higher selves as you relate to each other in your marriage. It is a spirit of truth, grace and forgiveness. May the Holy Spirit cover you and your family and be at the head of the house. The passion and fire of the heart burns with love for each other and children, the love is what drives you to work and fight, to provide and protect. The heart is made in the spiral of "Sankofa" to remind you both to look back to your parents, grandparents, elders and ancestors for wisdom. Tree of life, Jesus Christ, the roots, the water, the life blood, placed on the wife's bosom to represent the fertile ground of love you cultivate in your home. The spiral and circle above the couple represent the infinite of The Most High and His loving light in relationship with you. Godspeed! Love you both, Family, pray for y'all for the very best life. Peace! -Nathan Jalani Taylor
