Worst Valentine's Day ever

So February 14th rolls around every year, and for most it is a day of romance. It is like that for me too. Most of the time.
So this year, my fiance and I went to the theater to see Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman. She had been wanting to see it, but money is tight in our house. Valentine's Day, I went ahead and splurge, and took her out. Dinner, movie, and let's see what happens next.
So we are enjoying the movie, about 15 minutes in, i get a text from my sister saying that my dad has had a heart attack and has been checked into the hospital. Of course, I have to step out to call her. I get all the details, and my dad does not want anyone at the hospital tonight, so I make plans to come tomorrow morning.
I go back into the theater...and I get a call from my dad...to tell me all of the same stuff me and my sister just spoke about...I go back into the theater....
So far, I've missed about 20 minutes of the movie...
15 minutes later, I get a text from my other sister...My best friend of almost 20 years, Kensell, has passed away...
Kensell has been fighting cancer for 3 years at this point. Up and down, the fight was rough, and his body just gave out.
At this point I was just toast....My brain, my emotions were just done....I went back in and finished the movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but at this point, I had given up on V-Day....

I got home and drew this piece with oil pastels in memoriam of Kensell. He was an amazing human being. He always had a smile for every one. He was a ladies man, he was a guy's guy, and he was a best friend to everyone...He will always be missed, and will always be loved....
