Here is my collaboration with @everlove with her photograph "Wisdom of the Ancients."
I took her photo, which looks to be the bark and knot hole of the trunk of a tree. Here is the original photo:
I immediately saw a heart in it, as well as a mouth and tongue. I also could see hands holding up the heart on each side.
The idea for the roses came later as I was tracing the stretch marks of the knot hole and decided something should be coming out of the "mouth" of the tree. Flowers, of course! I used images of roses online which I cropped and isolated. I also added some roses from my own watercolor artwork. I then wrote the poem and put the whole thing together in Microsoft Word.
