Introducing the first contest from @steemitbooks!
For this contest your job is to create a bookplate. So what's a bookplate? It's pretty simple. A bookplate is a decorative piece of paper that lists the owner of a book. When the Steemit Book Project earns enough SBD to buy the first batch of book, before they are shipped out, a bookplate will be glued inside the front cover to show anyone who reads the digital version that the Steemit Book Project donated it. (for more info about the donating process you can read the intro post)
Rules:
- Draw a bookplate
- The entry can be hand drawn or digital.
- The entry must be your own. Any plagiarized or copied content will be disqualified.
- The entry must contain the words "Donated by The Steemit Book Project".
- You may include your signature as long as it is kept small.
- The entry must look good in black and white (since color is kinda expensive to print in)
- Any design or style can be used as long as it meets the above rules. Bookshelves, dragons, flying machines - anything goes.
- Submit your entry or a link to post with your entry (recommended) in the comments below
- The deadline is two weeks from today.
If you're still not totally sure what a bookplate is you can read the Wikipedia article about them or browse Flickr's collection.
Prize
The best entry will be given 3 SBD by @carn (who is hosting this contest). If several entries are chosen then each will be paid for their work. 3 SBD is guaranteed to be awarded, so even if you can't draw that well give it a try since you might submit the only entry =)
The Steemit Book Project was started by @carn and its goal is to make books more available to everyone. All the profits of this and any other post by @steemitbooks will be used to buy books to donate to Open Library. For more info about the project and ways you can help read the project's introduction post.
