Today I would like to show you something different from my usual work. This one was a part of a project that I was invited to do a couple of images for it. This is one of them but soon after I finished the first one, the project got canceled. However, the interest in these tiny sweet birds was enough to finish that illustration. I used a completely different technique. Soft brushes and the good old pen tool. It was fun to do it. There should be a video somewhere of how this one is done.
The way these tiny creatures hover through the air is almost magical, they are so precise and fast... Almost 70km/h. With that size, they are like bullets. The inspiration for the way that presented this small magical creature came to me after tried to do something similar with a sketch of a dragon. But I failed miserably cause I did not have the patience back then.
My old machine could not handle high rez in photoshop, but i did my best to be as good as possible...
Now that i look at it, it need a bit of green for balance, also the hold has some green nuances in it.
