Art Attack! #102: Trololo and Popsicle Emotes! 🍦

Hey Steemit!

We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!

So last week, I was sharing more about my streaming journey on Twitch and how we got Affiliated only after a month! I totally didn't expect to get affiliated to quickly so I was super psyched about it and really thankful to my community for being so supportive! Affiliates get to earn money from Twitch through viewer subscriptions, ad revenue and the like. And subscribers get benefits such as an ad-free viewing experience but also access to unique emotes from the channel!

So I started getting to work on said emotes and these were the first couple that I worked on!

One of them is my take on a pretty classic meme: the troll face! I'm sure if you've been on the internet long enough, you'd have seen this before. It's an old meme from waaaay back in 2008 and since we troll around a lot on stream, or rather chat likes to troll me, I thought it'd be perfect for my subs to use.

For this it's pretty simple, I basically just took the troll face and traced it, changing the shape of my taco to match. It didn't take long at all and was probably the simplest of all my emotes! I'm glad my chat really liked it too. Here's the very quick timelapse:

The next one is actually based on an inside joke on my streams, that happened during a hangout/dating quest in Genshin Impact, which is the main game I play on stream. If you're familiar with Genshin I'm sure you can figure out where this is from.

So long story short, there is a character called Chongyun in Genshin Impact who is an exorcist and he has some yang energy that he uses to fight demons and during his hangout/dating quest we go on a journey with him to fight some ghosts or something in the area. And he err makes and consumes popsicles to calm himself down or he will.. lose control.

Here's a highlight:

The phrasing of the dialogue was err very sussy and it just got worse as the quest went on with Chongyun offering his popsicles to children.. and it eventually culminated in this:

That whole stream was frickin crazy my voice was so gone after all that laughing and screaming that chat was calling for me to make an emote so I had to immoralise it! I didn't want to make it too sus though in case Twitch rejected it but thankfully they didn't!

image.png

It took a little bit but I tried my best to make it cute instead of sussy and I think it turned out quite alright! I did have to angle it and I tried to give it some perspective so you could see the popsicle from the side. Here's the timelapse:

It's just an innocent little tacocat eating a popsicle and blushing don't think too much about it. I've been thinking of reworking some of my emotes especially since I'll finally be getting my follower emotes so we'll see what else I can make for my subs!

Thanks so much for reading!
