Art Attack! #107: A Loli Zombie-mote? 🤔

Hey Steemit!

We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!

So over the last couple of weeks, I've been sharing about my journey of streaming on Twitch and the emotes that I made for my channel! This was the first batch of emotes I ever did and my viewers were so supportive and generous that I was able to get 5 tier 1 sub slots and 3 bit tier sub slots right off the bat!

Anyway, I thought we'd take a break for a while and share some other art I've done besides my emotes and ironically, the first piece after that was actually en emote commission for the first streamer friend I made on Twitch! His Twitch handle is GuitarRock69 and he was actually the first person to raid me! If you weren't aware, a raid on Twitch is when you bring your own viewers to someone else's channel, kind of like a surprise party!

And it was definitely a surprise! I'd never seen a raid happen live before, and definitely not on my channel so I was so shocked! Here's the video:

Coincidentally, it was also GuitarRock's first time raiding someone, so I was super lucky that he chose my channel since he's a pretty seasoned content creator and had a larger audience than me. Since then we became friends and did a couple of collabs together and he commissioned me to work on his first emote!

So the idea behind this was pretty simple, he wanted an emote of Qiqi (a character from Genshin Impact) in a thinking pose. Since we're both Genshin streamers and Qiqi is his favourite character, it made sense.

This is what Qiqi looks like and she's actually kind of a meme with Genshin players since nobody really likes her and every time someone pulls her in the gacha system it's always full of anguish and pain.

But Qiqi is actually pretty cute, and GuitarRock made his Qiqi one of the strongest I've ever seen (you know, for the content). There was also a whole thing with him and loli characters but I'm not gonna get into that. Anyway, this was the draft I sent him:

Since the emotes are pretty small, I just drew her head with her head on her face making a thinking expression. She actually does something like this pose in-game that looks like this:

When I sent him the draft he liked it so I coloured it and we get this:

I didn't really know how to colour the hair and what to do with her shadows but I tried my best. I didn't have a lot of experience with drawing humans digitally, and I did warn him so. I'm glad he still liked it though!

Here's the timelapse:

Since this was my first commission, I charged him 5 bucks for it. And he still had the gall to argue that it was too expensive? He was always a troller so I shouldn't be surprised but still. In the end he did end up buying a Steam gift card for me so I was satisfied.

This was about a year ago so I've done a couple of requests since then but I think this is the only "paid" one that I've done, technically. The rest were redeems that viewers can buy with channel points they've earned from my channel!

So if you ever want to get some free art from me, just be sure to lurk on my channel until you get bout 150K channel points! XD jk, but stay tuned for more art!

Thanks so much for reading!
