Hey Steemit!
We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!
So if you weren't aware, I've been streaming on Twitch for quite some time now and it's been fun trying out new games and making new friends in chat and with other streamers too! And I was fortunate enough to have loyal viewers whom enabled me to get Twitch Affiliate only a month after I started streaming!
We're still continuing on our series of channel art redemptions since Twitch Affiliates get the benefit of having channel points that viewers can redeem for special rewards! And since I'm an artist I thought I'd reward my loyal viewers with some free artwork!
Of course, it doesn't come cheap and my viewers will need at least 150,000 channel points to get it! It seemed like an impossible number at the time, but so many people have hoarded so much points it's insane.
And one of my streamer friends, nekosohaiz, was one of them! He also requested for an emote and his direct words were "I want a cute cat holding a heart maybe KEKW". KEKW is an emote on Twitch btw. It seemed pretty simple, and since I already had this very cute cat emote on my discord server I asked neko is he was fine with me using this and he said yes!
This cat emote is one of my favourites on my server and I use it a lot so I was happy to be able to draw it. But obviously I'd change the colours of the cat to match neko's cat since he has a mascot that one our mods, Jiann, drew for him as a sub badge.
So this was what Jiann drew which I thought was so cute! I foresaw the paws being a problem though since they were needlessly detailed imo. I told Jiann that while I worked on the emote on stream (since I draw live on most Tuesdays) and he said that took the longest of the whole piece. I'm not sure why he did it then but oh well.
Anyway, this was the sketch I came up with for the emote! It was pretty simple; I just traced the grey cat emote and changed the fur colour to match the sub badge.
I finished the outline and colouring on-stream while chatting with the bois and in the end, we get this!
I thought it came out really well despite the "fingers" looking a lil weird, it's not that noticeable since the emote will be quite small in chat anyway, so it's all good. And neko was really happy with it so I'm glad! The heart colour was a little tough to do but I think it looks okay, and actually kind of looks like a balloon of sorts, which was what I was going for.

I'm glad neko loved it! I'm really happy with it too, for more reasons than one. This is probably the easiest request so far since I traced the initial sketch. And tbh I needed a break after the previous request I did which was probably one of the hardest and most detailed ones to this day!
