Turning Into Aliens
Do you remember those times when we used to play outside all day? Well, If you ask me about it, I do remember everything about my childhood. When I was done with school, I was just leaving my bag at home and going out to play something and socialise with my friends. Can you see children doing the same thing now? The answer is probably no. We start losing all valuable things in our lives. Friendships and sincere conversations are replaced with our smart phones that we work hard just to pay its bills.
Techonology is getting more advanced every day. When we look at the positive sides of it, it can seem so nice. For example, technology has already offered us fast planes, great banking systems that help us to have an easier life. On the other hand, there are some negative sides of it which disturb me really a lot. We forgot to talk to each other just because of the small toys that everybody is using now! I can't even talk to my parents at home, because it is hard to see their faces since they are focused on their smart phones.
Ignorance and The Loss of Empathy!
What happened to the empathy that reminds people to feel like human? As you can see in the illustration above, people don't care how people who are in need of help feel. I have chance to observe similar cases in my daily life. There was a bomb attack in my city about 2 months ago. It was really dangerous case as you can easily imagine. There were lots of people in the scene who were trying to take photos and publish them on instagram. Is that really important to get likes on social websites like facebook and instagram?
I guess, it is all about our ego. People can't feel satisfied enough with their lives so they always need to be admired and appreciated by others. Social media and our smart phones are perfect tools to make it happen. Thus, it is not suprising to see many people taking selfies and constantly looking at their phones.
Your Food Needs To Be Liked!
When we talk about social media, one of the saddest things that we can't miss is posting a photo of food. I have to face with craziness every day on my instagram. Why can't people have their meal without posting them on social media? You may have a great meat , but it is not my business. Some people don't have chance to get them so please show a bit of respect.
I don't want to join friends' meeting anymore as I know that they won't even look at my face. They are always busy with their phones, waiting for message or posting a photo on instagram. That is really irritating. I have to face with the same problem also in my classes. As some of you already know, I am an English teacher and all my students have got their mobile phones. I always warn them to look at me so I can teach them something!
Total Craziness!
Some people even take selfies in funerals or hospitals and post them on their social media accounts as soon as posslbe so they can get liked just on time! I really can't understand the point of taking selfies in funeral. Didn't we use to feel sad and cry in funerals? I guess, we really need to find time machine so that we can go back 20 years earlier than today.
Final Note
I hope , your life is not ruined by technology and smart phones. I am a user of smart phone but I don't let it take over my life. I can still read something and talk to my parents in dinner time!
