Utopia

Utopia:

Is an imagined community or society that possesses highly desirable or nearly perfect qualities for its citizens. One could also say that utopia is a perfect "place" that has been designed so there are no problems.

A paradise is an ambiguous term that depends on the taste of each person. For me the paradise would not only be a magical place, with beautiful natural paisejes.

The paradise must be a place where the human being can coexist in peace with the ecosystem, and with its own species. Where there are no borders, wars, violence, dictatorships, oppressive systems, class differences, gender differences, or abuses directed at the weakest.

On the contrary, paradise must be a place where we can embrace our differences, where love is the norm.

An utopia

An ideal society

A "no-place"

As its word indicates
it does not exist.
we as a society have worked so that this possibility
of "paradise" is very far away.

This is why reference is made to "paradise of adam and eva", also to the forbidden fruit of the forbidden tree, in this case the composition shows small guardians, angels of nature whose job is to make sure to perpetuate the peace of the place to avoid that any person eat the fruit.

  • Use of colors: pink, brown with reddish tendencies (gray with green), and purple for darker areas.

  • With the colors (wood) the tree is detailed, generating depth in the stains made with watercolor.

  • The crayons were also used to paint the skin of the angels, the bees, and the details of the leaves.

  • The pencil was used to create active lines on the plane, to limit the spots of the background (mountain) and to detail the elements of the illustration, "fairy tale" style.

Thanks for your support!

I do not usually use watercolor, it is not my favorite technique for drawing but I enjoy experimentation and I hope to improve with practice.

This is my entry to the contest:
