I am very happy and excited to join the #artstorm contest themed "Summer Garden". It brings back the old treasured memory...
Aside from painting and drawing, I love planting. My mother used to assign the planting of ornamental plants to me. She said because I have a green thumb - meaning I can grow plants.
I remember we have a small garden before and I planted several ornamental plants such as Golden Doranta, San Francisco, Orchids and Chinese Bamboo.
Then, when I reached high school, I chose to enrol in Agriculture and learn more about plants and how to take care of them. I knew how to do marcotting and grafting. The students who studied Agriculture were assigned on the beautification of the school and in maintaining the school backyard where we planted, harvested and made money out of our produce.
One important memory also when I was a student was when our teacher told us to bring an orchid, that was easy because we have plenty of plants and orchids at home. However, our teacher told us further that the orchid should grow healthy and flower. He told us to fail us if that wouldn't happen. Luckily, he revealed the secret - to talk to the plant/orchid.
Would you believe that? Please do so.
For this watetcolor art, I used the following:
• Koi Watercolors
• Pencil
• Watetcolor Pad
• Masking Tape
• Sketching
• Painting
• Removing of the masking tape.
I hope you like this and keep supporting me and other Steemians who love arts.
Cheers,
