The Nostalgia is REAL

Most people have to remember the original waxed paper cup with iconic blue, purple and white sketch pattern, otherwise known as the "Jazz Pattern".

Solo cups eventually acquired the original company (Sweetheart Cup Company) that first created this design in 1992. That just happens to be the year that I was born, so there has never been a day in my life that this design did not exist. I can remember seeing it throughout my entire childhood at almost every birthday party or school event I was ever at. Two of my favorite colors on a cup, how could I ever forget.

The design was actually created by a former employee of Sweetheart Cup Company named Gina Ekiss. She was actually never paid anything for this infamous design, she simply won a design contest. A short interview with this woman about the design can be found here
