My illustrative acrylic painting "foreign"

This has been one of my favourite acrylic paintings from last year and i can't help but wear a good smile each time i come across it in my portfolio.
Actually, the idea behind this kicked started when i came across this photo while scrolling down a friend's page on facebook👇

Initially, I'd taken some time to give it a good look while pondering over what i could possibly do with it, and i would say what particularly caught my interest was his clothing.
Of course i didn't need to be told he's Arabian and I've always been a fan of their dressing style specifically because it gave off that jewish feel of having them walk about in flowing garments.
Are you asking yourself how absurd of her? Lol 😀 Even the least expected things gives me tons of inspiration.

First thing i thought of, was what title I'd give the work and yeah..... After much struggles, i settled on "FOREIGN"
Since I'm Nigerian, and actually making this as a fan art in solitude to my love for Arabic wears, i thought it would make a lot of sense to have that title for the artwork because he is of another region and so anyone who sees it would be able to get a self explanation on the reason for it's making.

Making the painting wasn't too hectic since the negative space occupied more of the white areas; with that, i was able able to focus more on the positive space(the area covered in black) you could also call it the background.

I always love to make some adjustments while making my own piece as it is always pleasurable to bring in some things which might have been absent in the photo; so if you take a good look, you'd see that i made him look less fatter while taking some time out to adjust other parts in order to get the proportion right.
Last but not the least, i thought it wise to plant those trees you see at the bottom, just to give it more of that foreign look.
