There is a place inbetween science and majick. I personally have always believed that there is a science to everything, including majick. That if you can do something, there is a science behind what you are doing. This idea has never been too popular in the science world, or the majick world. Yet here they are in this portrait. Perhaps in the future, perhaps in the past, but this woman has capabilities currently beyond our own in the realm of some serious fantasy Sci-fi.
Step into the space underneath her cloak and you enter a place that could be perhaps beyond veil or on the rings of Saturn.
My Husband mentioned that he loves that my work tends to look like something Adam Ant would see on LSD. LOL!

For this Painting I knew I wanted a Victorian looking Lady as my central figure for a few reasons. As a general rule the people of the day (In Europe and the U.S. especially)were very much so into majick, science and fiction writing. Also the fashion of this time period is very recognisable as a certain place in history. I found this lady and knew she would be perfect. A story seemed to be coming from her almost immediately. This woman is Marcelle Lender, and she was actually one of Toulouse-Lautrec's models.
I used the photograph to draw the faintest of outlines.
And then let myself draw whatever I desired. This one was a lot of fun.
I wanted to have a bit of a Shamanistic feeling so I added lots of feathery bits and horns. Here is the finished piece unflitered.
