Greetings fellow Steemians!
Today I'll be writing about band: „Scale The Summit“
#ScaleTheSummit is an American instrumental progressive metal band based out of Houston, Texas. It formed in 2004 and signed to Prosthetic Records.
Their first album called „Monument“ was released on July 10th, 2007. After their first awesome album they went on and created 5 more:
- „Carving Desert Canyons;“ was released on February 17, 2009
- „The Collective“; was released on March 1th, 2011
- „The Migration“; was released on June 11th, 2013
- „V“; was released on September 18th, 2015
- „In A World Of Fear“; was released May 19, 2017 and it was their first album that wasn't released under Prosthetic Records but rather by themselves.
This song „Atlas Novus“ is the second song from the „The Migration“ album, and it's so well thought through, these guys really know how to set the outworldly atmosphere.
The guitar works that were done by Chris Letchford (lead guitar, 7 string) and Travis Levrier (rhythm guitar, 7 string) are just awesome. Chris Letchford uses such graceful and light technique but so professional and Travis has just awesome tapping parts. He's one of the most creative rhythm guitarists I've heard s far.
Drums were done by Pat Skeffington and he really knows how to support the melody of the song with his percussion. He plays so chill and so powerful at the same time. Just awesome.
And bassist Mark Michell (6 string) is one of the most promissing younger bassists in the metal industry these days. He really knows his shit and he thinks so deeply about how to write his parts, I mean just take a look at about 3:23, that part is so melodic and harmonious with the rest of the band.
I mean, these guys work so well together on this album, the feel and vibe that they're creating is something so unique.
Really, take a listen to them, if you're into this kind of music, you'll love this.
