I spent two evenings in a row at the San Diego American Plaza Trolley stop as I made two round trips in two days from San Ysidro California to Los Angeles by taxi, trolley, train, and bus in March 2016. I needed to get my first Thai Visa and the best solution was two long trips to LA.
I left the house at 5 am and returned at 11 pm two days in a row. This trolley stop was part of that journey and I went through it 4 times in two days. You are seeing photos from both nights as I waited for my trolley to go home. Those were quiet moments in those two stressful days. I’m good at waiting; but making all those connections was not simple.
You are looking at the light show that goes on whenever it’s dark and the San Diego Trolley is open. I have so many pictures of this! The colors had me enthralled. I’ll show you some more on another color day or another challenge the trolley stop works for.
I’m looking straight up on the back side of the station here. I was focusing on the white and got the colors I got. I had to get into a strange place for this photo. I was sort of stuck in a wall. This is one of many photos I took in a few minutes.
Some guy came up and asked me what the heck I was taking a picture of over in the back of the station. He thought this was ok when I showed him my previews, but he still had his doubts about me after that so I slunk off to the other side of the station.
Here’s me playing with edits. This is more contrast-y.
This is more monotone.
Then this guy came by.
And then the trolley came along – not mine. I had to run for this different angle.
The San Diego American Plaza Trolley stop is lit up at night in a rotating light show and you are seeing some of the blue. I thought I would put these photos in yesterday’s color challenge for indigo – but after a lot of work – I just couldn’t do it! I have trouble with indigo and I think this is not deep enough.
Who knows why I would take so much effort on a shade of a color but I did. So today, I am repurposing these photos for the #beautifulsunday challenge put on by @ace108.
These photos were not taken on a Sunday, but instead on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Getting my Thai Visa thrilled me. Saying goodbye to LA was an unexpected detour. Riding all the transportation was fantastic. Seeing the trolley station light shows was a bonus.
And today – having some photos ready to post without having to edit makes this a Beautiful Sunday!
Working on my fitinfun posters too. Nothing at fitinfun would be possible if I was still fighting the battle with obesity. I was glad to find out I had to keep moving to stay fit, and I still do it today.
