Hello all, I'd like to share my morning mountain bike ride at Sanborn park this morning. It was 21.9 miles and 3,000 feet of climbing. An out to Saratoga Gap and back. GPS data from a Garmin Vivoactive HR w/Wahoo HRM. Bike is a Norco carbon hard tail.
See that small blue spot on the map above? That is this small lake, I saw an egret looking for breakfast, but it was a little too far away for a photo.
A little over halfway up the climb, there is a huge rock that the path circles around. You can see the stacked rocks at the upper left side of the shot where the trail builders supported that part of the upper path. (See my bike?)
A project to have a hiking/biking trail that encompassed the entire bay area was started years ago. It is not complete, but trail work is done every year to get closer to completing the project. I was on the bottom left of the system.
On the way back down, I stopped at this vista point overlooking Santa Clara county. It was a clear day as you can see the south end of the bay and the mountain range in the background is looking towards Fremont.
Happy Sunday!
