Beautiful Sunday – Knowing the Punta Ballenas Lighthouse (Margarita Island)

Hello friends, today I will share with you a walk through a very beautiful place on the island of Margarita:

Punta Ballenas Lighthouse (Pampatar - Margarita Island)

This lighthouse represents one of the main tourist stops on the island. It is located in the City of Pampatar specifically in La Caranta and was inaugurated in 2007. It is a tower of 28 meters and its architecture revives the Spanish forts of the colonial era. It has a spectacular view, where you can see the entire city of Pampatar, Cerro Copey, Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo and the salt mines.

The guides in the lighthouse explained that the most advanced technologies were used in the construction, an example is the lighthouse lamp that shines at more than 28 nautical miles.

Although this lighthouse was created for military purposes it is open to the general public.

When you go up the lighthouse you can feel a gust of air with the smell of the sea.

On the last terrace you can see this beautiful 360 degree panoramic view of the island and the coastline.
